I told Kevin that before I start a project, I see the finished bike in my mind, and that mental picture sets the blueprint that I work from. I told him from there, I mentally take apart the bike, almost like someone filmed the whole build process and ran the tape in reverse. That was the case with this bike.

He has other employees, but no one other than him ever touch the bikes he builds because of his exacting standards and meticulous detail. As the sole builder of each bike, he spends a lot of time with each one, and he feels they develop their own personalities; so, he names each bike before it reaches the customer. 2005 Big Dog Choppers Product Lineup - Featured Reviews
Big Dog Motorcycles has always been known for being beefy, and the 2005 chopper lineup is no exception. This year they decided to go even bigger -- 117ci motors and 250mm to 300mm tires on the Chopper and the Ridgeback! But there's much more; check out the new Baker drivetrain components! With the 300mm tire in the back, Big Dog had to figure out a way to balance the bike, and what better way than with a right-side drive and a thin primary? Not too long ago, Baker came out with the drop starter slam clutch that is much more narrow than a stock primary housing, plus it lowers the overall height of the primary and repositions the starter. Working in conjuction with the new primary is Baker's polished, right-side-drive, helical gear six-speed transmission and narrow 1-1/4-inch final beltdrive.

Special Construction Amen Chopper - Featured Reviews
Custom bike builders can get inspired for a new design from just about anywhere or anything. However, Mike Brown, owner of Amen Chassis Works, gets his inspiration from a higher source. It also makes sense that, since this bike is somewhat of a divine design, it looks like nothing we have ever seen before. Once the initial seed was planted in his head, it took Mike seven hours to accurately transfer the image from his mind onto paper. Mike then used CAD/CAM programming to input the design into his computer so that he could work out the exact dimensions and angles he would need to make the bike a reality.
